Let's know about motor neuron

Researchers at the University of Aberdeen recently discovered that signs of motor neuron disease (MND) could be seen 14 years before the patients experience symptoms.

Motor neuron disease (MND) does not have a cure now, and it is terminal. The legendary Stephen Hawking suffered from the same disease.

Some researchers at the University of Aberdeen found MND proteins in the gut long before any symptoms linked with the brain appeared in the patients

Apart from the brain, the disease also affects other body parts. A couple of common changes are in the gut and weight loss.

There is a changed bowel habit. A stool sample or gut biopsy might be enough to detect Motor Neuron Disease.

Recent studies have revealed that the proteins found in MND could be found in lymph nodes, skin, gut and other tissues.

It happens before the symptoms appear. A doctor said it was a significant finding to understand more about the disease.

It can be a critical step in detecting, preventing and curing the disease. Early detection of the disease can be really helpful.
